
Under the guided direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the IT Sup II will be responsible for the daily operation and logistics of the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) - Local. The TAC – Local is responsible for the primary IT helpdesk support provided to the Office of the Attorney General (AG) Staff in the greater Sacramento area. In this capacity, the IT Sup II over the assigned TAC section plans, organizes, and directs the daily activities of helpdesk staff located in the greater Sacramento area. This position may require frequent travel to several offices to meet and plan activities with remote staff. Further, this position will work in direct cooperation with their reporting ITM I to develop and enforce standards in personal computer, printer, and software needs for the Department of Justice.

- Strong background in desktop support (Windows, Microsoft 365, printing, mobile devices, VPN)
- Network troubleshooting skills (basic LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS)
- Proficiency in IT service management (ITSM) systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Ivanti)
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and user account administration.
- Knowledge of endpoint management systems (e.g., SCCM, Tanium, Intune, JAMF)
- Network troubleshooting skills (basic LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS)
- Experience supporting remote and hybrid environments
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members
- Skilled at managing priorities, escalations, and service-level expectations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to analyze trends in support requests and identify improvement opportunities
- Comfortable with documentation, reporting, and process standardization
- Ability to work under pressure, including during critical incidents or system outages
- Ability to manage and motivate teams, delegate tasks, and oversee daily support operations
- Experience creating schedules, setting performance goals, and conducting performance reviews
- Experience coordinating desktop rollouts, migrations (e.g., Windows 11), or large-scale deployments
