· 5+ years of banking or financial services operations experience required.
· 5+ years of directly related experience in a similar Legal Operations and/or other Departmental role required.
· 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management position preferred. Department escalation leadership roles (i.e. Department Lead or Department Senior) considered in lieu of direct supervisory or management specific.
Formal Education & Certification:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Work Status:
· Full-Time.
Supervisory Responsibility:
· 2 or more direct reports.
Travel:
· 0% travel expected.
Working Conditions:
· Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.

The Legal Operations Department Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the department including, but not limited to, coordinating and discussing legal matters pertaining to all aspects of Legal Operations with Legal Counsel as needed; escalating operational issues and concerns with the appropriate departments, including senior level managers; and understanding the workflows and intricacies of the Legal CRM Microsoft Dynamics system. The Legal Operations Department Manager must be an expert in reading and understanding levies and liens, garnishments, deceased case issues, and subpoena cases with the ability to make critical decisions and the ability to know when these cases need to be escalated to Legal Counsel. The Legal Operations Department Manager must have a good understanding of how to research information in multiple Woodforest systems, including FIS Workstation, D1 Teller research, WAS CRM Microsoft Dynamics, and Share Point systems to name a few. This position must also work closely with the IT sources to resolve and trouble shoot any issues with CRM. The Legal Operations Department Manager must also have proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the day-to-day operations and performance of the Legal Operations teams.
· Responsible for communicating with Technology Support and other technical staff to trouble-shoot any issues with tools or applications to ensure all tools and applications are operating as expected.
· Oversee the daily work activities of department personnel and perform support duties as needed to ensure that daily objectives are met.
· Serves as a senior level resource for team members assisting with questions, providing guidance on issue resolution, making critical decisions, solving problems and handling escalated issues.
· Manages, monitors, evaluates, and coaches the performance of staff; approves time sheets and time-off requests; makes decisions on personnel matters such as hiring, promotions and disciplinary actions.
Competencies Required:
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage workload in a fast paced, high-volume environment and to instill a sense of urgency in others as necessary to meet deadlines.
· Developed problem solving, strong decision making, problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
· Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills.
· Strong working knowledge of banking policies and procedures with the ability to make decisions using critical thinking skills when reviewing levies, liens, garnishments, subpoenas, court orders, legal research requests, social security account verification, establishment of fiduciary accounts and power of attorneys, and releasing of deceased account holder funds to an estate or beneficiary.
· Good technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint portal sites, CRM), and banking software applications and systems (Bancline, D1 Teller, Mozart).
