Job Description

Description

FBFK Law Firm is seeking a Legal Technology Operations Specialist to serve as a critical operational resource across our legal technology ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of IT support, legal practice workflows, and hands-on operations — requiring someone who can move fluidly between diagnosing a software issue, supporting an eDiscovery request, setting up a conference room, and helping a practice group adopt a new tool, all within the same day.

The ideal candidate is technically grounded, legally aware, and genuinely curious about how technology can improve the way a law firm operates. High AI fluency is strongly preferred — we view the ability to leverage AI tools thoughtfully as a force multiplier for this role, not an afterthought.

  • Provide hands-on support for eDiscovery workflows including document collection, processing coordination, and platform assistance
  • Assist attorneys and staff with conflicts check processes and the systems that support them

  • Stay current on emerging legal technology and proactively identify opportunities to improve firm workflows

  • Manage equipment inventory and ensure all technology is maintained and functioning properly
  • Assist with onboarding new users and ensuring they are equipped and operational from day one

Trial & Court Support

  • Set up and configure laptops, monitors, projectors, and presentation systems for court proceedings
  • Ensure all equipment is tested and functioning before trial dates
  • Provide on-site technical support during trials as needed
  • Pack, transport, and return equipment following court appearances

Facility & Physical Operations

  • Set up and break down conference rooms, meeting spaces, and event areas
  • Move and arrange office furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Assist with office relocations, reconfigurations, and space planning
  • Maintain organized storage areas for equipment and supplies

Training, Communications & General Operations

  • Develop clear documentation and training materials to help staff get the most out of firm technology
  • Communicate technical concepts in plain language to attorneys and staff at all levels
  • Support administrative team with operational needs as they arise
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment deployment, issue resolution, and system changes

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, legal technology, or a law firm environment
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills — able to diagnose ambiguous technical issues without hand-holding
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and respond with urgency when needed
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a legal environment and client-facing situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working inside a full-service business law firm
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery processes and supporting platforms
  • Working knowledge of document management or practice management systems
  • High AI fluency — comfortable using AI tools to research, troubleshoot, automate, and problem-solve
