Job Description

Block is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams — People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more — provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.

The Role

As a Technical Program Manager, Legal Engineering and Technology, you will leverage deep expertise in eDiscovery and legal workflows to lead two critical initiatives: eDiscovery Modernization and Legal Orchestration. You'll drive strategy, execution, and adoption with a high degree of independence, partnering across counsel, legal operations, engineering, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions that streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and reduce risk. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience managing complex legal technology programs, with a strong foundation in EDRM processes and a proven record of implementing enterprise-scale tools and workflows. You will also lead the evaluation and integration of AI capabilities within eDiscovery and orchestration to advance efficiency, consistency, and risk management.

You Will

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and delivery for eDiscovery Modernization (legal hold, collections, review platforms, vendor integrations)
  • Lead product management for Legal Orchestration (front door, intake, workflow automation, request management) to improve how legal services are delivered across the business.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI/automation capabilities into workflows, including AI-assisted review, automated redaction, contract/playbook application, and orchestration bots.
  • Partner with Legal stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into actionable product roadmaps and user stories.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, IT, and vendors to design and deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.
  • Define and track success metrics (e.g., turnaround time, adoption, outside counsel spend reduction, risk mitigation).
  • Lead user enablement and change management activities to ensure smooth adoption and sustained impact.
  • Stay current on eDiscovery, AI, and orchestration trends, tools, and best practices to inform roadmap evolution.
  • Align with other product managers and the Legal Technology lead to manage dependencies and portfolio priorities.

You Have

  • 8+ years of experience in product management, program management, or legal operations, with a strong focus on eDiscovery (EDRM lifecycle management).
  • Demonstrated expertise in eDiscovery workflows and platforms (Relativity, Reveal, Disco, or similar).
  • Experience implementing legal orchestration or service delivery solutions (intake systems, workflow automation, front doors).
  • Familiarity with AI applications in legal technology, including eDiscovery (AI-assisted review, redaction, TAR), orchestration (chatbots, workflow automation), and contract/playbook automation.
  • Ability to independently lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across Legal, Compliance, and Engineering.
  • Proven ability to translate legal workflows into product requirements and successful implementations.
