Job Description:

The Legal Nurse Consultant analyzes and defends firm clients in government and commercial payor disputes. This position combines clinical expertise with writing and presentation skills in support of Firm clients.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Use clinical background and provided writing templates to document opinions regarding medical necessity for the use of office-based Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes
  • Research Medicare and LCD-level guidelines to strengthen arguments
  • Collaborate with Farragut’s medical coders and auditors regarding medical documentation requirements as they relate to the case in question
  • Verbally discuss findings with client and Counsel to present a final written and verbal argument
  • Assist Counsel in arguing the firm’s positions to the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) level
  • Leverage strong organizational and people-focused skills to manage multiple engagements, project workflows, processes and timelines
  • Build client confidence by keeping all stakeholders’ expectations aligned
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate necessary components to key team members and clients, including progress and deadlines, to all relevant stakeholders

Job Specifications:

  • At least five (5) years of experience in a clinical nursing capacity
  • Demonstrated experience in organization
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information

     Target Hiring Range $115,000 - $150,000
Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
