Position Summary:
The Wyandotte County District Attorney's Office is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Victim Advocate Coordinator to join our team. This critical role involves providing comprehensive support services to victims of crime and their families. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a strong commitment to helping others.
Responsibilities:
Case Management: Provide individualized support to victims throughout the criminal justice process, including intake, assessment, case planning, crisis intervention, advocacy, and resource referrals. Emphasis on drug/opioid related case and victims.
Community Outreach: Build relationships with community partners, conduct educational workshops, participate in community events, and promote awareness of victim services.
Training: Mentor and train volunteer advocates and provide professional development opportunities.
Data Collection and Reporting: Collect and analyze data on victim services, prepare reports, and write grant proposals.
Administrative Tasks: Manage case files, documentation, and attend meetings and conferences.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of experience and education to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position
Minimum of 0-1 years of experience working with victims of crime or related populations
Strong understanding of victim's rights and the criminal justice system
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
Preferred Qualifications:
2-5 years working with victims of crime or related populations
Master's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field
Certification in crisis intervention or victim advocacy
Bilingual or multilingual skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to travel to various locations within the metro area as needed
Ability to bend and lift to 15lbs

The Work environment may be stressful due to the nature of the work
May be to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Salary Range:
$29.62 - $40.43/hr.
