Job Description

The Office of Special Counsel for the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana seeks a Louisiana licensed attorney with a minimum of five years litigation experience to investigate complaints of unethical conduct, litigate formal charges before Judiciary Commission hearing officers and the Commission, and other legal duties as needed. Applicants must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Trial experience a plus. Must be computer proficient. Some travel required. Duties include: investigating and litigating complaints of judicial misconduct; taking depositions and sworn statements; legal research; drafting pleadings; preparing legal memoranda and briefs; preparing and trying cases before hearing officers; and preparing and presenting oral arguments to the Commission and to the Louisiana Supreme Court.
