Our Energy Development team consists of over 100 lawyers who provide services to traditional and renewable energy clients. Our services within the team include corporate and industrial energy management, energy finance, energy litigation, and utility solutions. We are nationally recognized for work on projects including solar power, wind power, pipelines, hydropower, natural gas plants, renewable gas facilities, transmission lines, and bioenergy projects. Role Overview
Stoel Rives is looking to hire a junior energy regulatory associate in California with experience practicing before the California Public Utilities Commission, or an interest in gaining such experience. The candidate will work on state and federal regulatory matters for a wide mix of clients. The candidate will interact directly with clients with the eventual goal of taking on the responsibility for managing aspects of matters independently, including making appearances and presenting oral arguments before various agencies.

Experience
One to three years of experience in general energy and utility matters including familiarity with state and federal energy laws, energy transactional matters (including power supply and related agreements), and general energy litigation. The candidate will preferably have legal experience on matters before a state public utility commission, and/or worked in-house for a city, municipal utility, or rural electric cooperative.
Education
JD from an accredited university
License
Active membership in commitment to applying for the California State Bar.

Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for this position in the State of California is $205,000 – $215,000+; however, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience. This information is provided per California’s pay transparency law, SB 1162. This salary range is based on market location.
