Keenan & Associates seeks a Corporate Paralegal to join its legal department. In this role you will be responsible for areas including corporate filings, insurance entity licensing, third-party administrator licensing, and providing support to the corporate attorneys. Your responsibilities will include providing advice and guidance around corporate entity and licensing requirements, working with state regulatory agencies on governance and licensing issues and making necessary corporate updates.
It is preferred this role be located in Southern California with the ability to be present at Keenan’s corporate office in Torrance, CA on a hybrid schedule. The position will work closely with and report to the Managing Legal Counsel.
Keenan, an Accretive company, is an insurance brokerage and consulting firm meeting the insurance needs of hospitals, public entities and California school districts. Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of: employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.
Please note that the duties below can vary based on the workflow of the legal department
- Ensure proper renewal of all Keenan entity licensing in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide oversight in management of third-party administrator (TPA) licenses.
- Lead training and communication initiatives to increase awareness and compliance with licensing requirements and any new or changing obligations.
- Provide support in areas of corporate governance including filing annual reports and other required documentation.
- Draft corporate documents such as board resolutions as requested.
- Provide support around certificates of insurance.
- Work effectively with internal clients at all levels to meet company goals and objectives.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with the members of the legal department.
- Provide support attorneys handling claims and litigation, as requested.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines on projects.
- Excellent oral communication and writing skills.
- Self-motivated, independent and able to handle time sensitive projects.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent follow-up skills that drive to completion.
- Demonstrate good judgment, reasoned decisions and maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred but equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in either a law firm or corporate legal team.
- Significant experience in areas of corporate management and licensing.
- Strong MS Office suite skills - Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Experience in the insurance industry is encouraged, but not required.
- Experience with Salesforce is encouraged, but not required.
- Experience with SmartSheets is encouraged, but not required.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. Hybrid work environment flexibility.
