Sands Anderson is expanding its Business Group and seeking an experienced attorney to join our dynamic Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Team. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated legal professional with a strong transactional background and an entrepreneurial spirit.
About the Role
Were looking for an attorney with at least six (6) years of experience in business transactions, particularly in M&A. Youll work closely with nationally recognized partners on high-level matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role offers direct client engagement, leadership opportunities, and significant responsibility on complex deals, without requiring a book of business.
Key Qualifications

Minimum six (6) years of experience in corporate transactions

Strong drafting skills and the ability to lead deals from structuring to closing

Experience advising on entity formation, debt and equity financing, and corporate governance

Ability to advise C-suite executives, management teams, and business owners
-
Active license to practice law in Virginia (or willingness to obtain, with relocation support)
Primary Responsibilities

Advise corporate clients on entity structure, contracts, and transactions

Draft and negotiate a range of deal documents: purchase agreements, M&A, asset sales, financing instruments, buy-sell agreements, options, deferred compensation plans, and more

Collaborate with colleagues across the Business Group to provide comprehensive client support

Manage due diligence, negotiations, and closing processes

Deliver responsive, detail-oriented service under tight deadlines when needed
What Were Looking For

JD from an ABA-accredited law school

Strong communication and client service skills

Entrepreneurial mindset and eagerness to contribute to business growth

Licensed to practice in Virginia (relocation assistance available)
