Please Note:
- It is an 100% Onsite position at OSHRC National Office, Washington
- Work Schedule: 32 hours/week, during core business hours (7:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Duration: Base year (09/30/2025 – 09/29/2026) + 4 option years
- Work Authorization / Clearance: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a Tier 1/NACI federal background check (security and privacy training required).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily operations of the Agency’s legal library (physical & digital).
- Conduct legal and business research; answer reference questions.
- Perform cite-checking of legal/regulatory materials.
- Manage collection reviews, acquisitions, renewals, and cancellations.
- Provide training on legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.).
- Develop and maintain SharePoint / Office 365 knowledge management pages.
- Deliver reports, training materials, and updated digital content.
Requirements Required Skills:
- Experience in legal and business reference services.
- Knowledge of library/collection management policies (federal guidelines preferred).
- Proficiency in Office 365 and SharePoint.
- Strong legal research and analysis skills.

- Library Operations & Reference Support
- Daily library operations.
- Answer reference/legal research questions (including complex legal & business research).
- Provide access to print, digital, and subscription resources.
- Edit content, perform cite-checking, and monitor topical issues.
- Maintain physical and digital collections.
- Annual and ongoing review of holdings.
- Recommend retention/removal of materials.
- Identify collection deficiencies & recommend acquisitions.
- Evaluate/renew/cancel subscriptions.
- Manage user IDs for digital subscriptions.

- Legal Research & Cite-Checking
- Use tools like Westlaw, LexisNexis.
- Verify citations, pin cites, grammar, and formatting.
- Support creation of research starter tools and guides.
- Assist with presentation materials and speaking notes.
- Digital Content & Knowledge Management
- Develop/maintain SharePoint & Office 365 sites.
- Maintain pages like Library Resources, Case Index, ALJ-only, OEXD, COVID Info Hub.
- Create internal knowledge-sharing tools.
- Provide orientation/training on research resources.
- Publish work-life programming content.
- Annual/ad-hoc collection management reports.
- Legal research & cite-checking summaries.
- Updated SharePoint/library pages.
- Training materials and session records.
- Reports on reference activity, usage metrics.
