Job Description

If you have experience as a non-attorney Veterans Service Representative or Accredited Agent handling VA compensation claims and have a passion for helping Vets beat the VA, this is the attorney position for you. Tucker Disability Law fights for veterans all over the country. Our agency-focused practice will allow you to strategize tactics and develop evidence for deserving clients at the RO and BVA. We are a team of highly trained and dedicated professionals working to get veterans and their survivors the disability compensation they deserve.

We have 23 team members in 7 different states.  This position is full-time and will be performed remotely, maintaining on-task performance while working independently during firm hours without direct oversight. Occasional travel to our headquarters office in St. Petersburg, Florida or to industry conferences, as appropriate, may occur occasionally.  The position requires a goal-oriented person with a strong skill set in VA procedure and practice to properly supervise non-attorney staff who perform high-level functions on the team.

An individual who is Accredited to practice before VA or an experienced VSR with an interest in pursuing Accreditation as an Agent to practice before the agency would be an excellent fit for this position.

- Personally represent clients in the prosecution of appeals before the VA Regional Office or Board of Veterans Appeals, including developing evidence and extensive research and writing of letter briefs and appellate filings.

- Supervise and train other team members.

- Respond to written and telephonic inquiries from clients.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current veteran statutes, regulations, and case law through personal research and by attending CLE training, subject to approval.

- Ensure clients pay fees and costs in a timely manner.

- Implement and follow firm systems within the firm’s case management and other software.

- Reach all relevant key performance indicators at scheduled intervals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- No less than 1 to 3 full years of actual experience handling VA compensation claims.

- Completed background check with PIV Card access to VBMS for at least 1 year, and ability to have it reinstated in a short period of time following hire.
