Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Elder Abuse Litigation Attorney with a strong background in nursing home and healthcare facility litigation to join our dynamic and mission-driven team. We are committed to protecting the rights of vulnerable elderly individuals and pursuing justice against nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, and healthcare providers responsible for abuse, neglect, and wrongful death.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage elder abuse litigation cases from pre-litigation through trial
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal briefs
  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials throughout California
  • Work closely with medical experts and litigation support teams
  • Review and analyze complex medical records and facility documentation
  • Develop case strategy and maximize recovery for clients
  • Lead and collaborate with paralegals, case managers, and support staff
  • Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates and discuss case developments
  • Prepare pre-trial documents and trial materials in preparation for trial

Qualifications:

  • Active admission to the California State Bar
  • Strong litigation, deposition, mediation, and courtroom experience with the ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload
  • Experience handling plaintiff-side elder abuse and wrongful death matters involving nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living facilities, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers
  • Familiarity with Elder Abuse and Dependent Adult Civil Protection Act (EADACPA) claims, including cases involving pressure injuries/bed sores, falls, supervision negligence, dehydration, malnutrition, sepsis, medication errors, and medical neglect
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing medical records, conducting and defending depositions of medical providers and facility staff, and handling motions practice, including motions to compel and motions in limine
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced litigation environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to client advocacy, professionalism, and achieving meaningful results for injured and vulnerable clients

Compensation Range:

$150,000 – $300,000 including commission (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
