The Regional Service’s Division Everett Section is recruiting for an Attorney Team Leader!

The position reports directly to Everett’s Section Chief and is one of two team leaders responsible for oversight of legal services provided in Snohomish County and Island County.  The position is a full case carrying position, is responsible for the direct supervision of 6 AAGs, and is a member of the Everett’s Management Team.

About the RSD/Everett Section
 The Everett office includes 17 attorneys and 20 professional staff and provides representation to its clients through litigation and client advice. Litigation includes hearings and trials in juvenile court, superior court, and administrative hearings under the Administrative Procedures Act. RSD Everett attorneys are also responsible for handling cases appealed to the Court of Appeals and the Washington Supreme Court. The office’s clients include:

  • Department of Children, Youth and Families in juvenile court in Snohomish and Island counties 
  • Department of Social and Health Services
  • The Department of Labor and Industries 
  • The Department of Employment Security 
  • Education clients

Duties

RSD/Everett Team Lead Position & Essential Functions

The Everett office is looking for a Team Lead. The Team Lead will be assigned a caseload which may include representing DCYF, DSHS, LNI, and/or Education clients. Additionally, the Team Lead will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and supporting staff, as well as participate as a member of Everett’s management team.  

Essential management functions include:

  • Participating in the hiring process for Everett employees;
  • Evaluating employee performance & providing feedback;
  • Implementing performance management plans and policies;
  • Regularly coordinating with the Everett Section Chief; and
  • Maintaining an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity.

Applicants must have graduated from a law school accredited by the ABA or completed the WSBA's Rule 6 Law Clerk Program; and be licensed to practice law in Washington state. (Applicants who meet the other stated qualifications and are actively pursuing admission by motion will also be considered.) Supplemental Information

This Team Leader position is represented by the Association of Washington Assistant Attorneys General (AWAAG) / Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) AFSCME Council 28, AFL-CIO. AAG salaries are set between $80,592 and $156,996.
