What you will be doing

The Licensing Specialist will act as a liaison to and partner with our third-party vendor in the preparation and management of all required licensing and permitting, including renewals and new applications, for Albertsons Companies’ locations to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as industry standards.

The position will be based in Boise, ID, or Phoenix, AZ. 

Main responsibilities

  • Works with location managers, controllers and respective divisions and departments, to handle the licensing processes for new locations and/or renewals for existing locations.
  • Provides responses to company individuals, stores on questions or issues related to licensing.
  • Gather information or perform facts on issues related to licensing and permitting.
  • Grows and maintains existing knowledge database and historical filings for each state’s licensing requirements, restrictions, or limitations. 
  • Obtains all necessary documentation, including signatures required to process applications internally or in partnership with third-party vendor. 
  • Maintains active relationships with jurisdictions and partners to ensure quick access and turn around for necessary information.
  • Handles company information with appropriate sensitivity and safeguards to ensure confidentiality and right to privacy, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provides licensing coverage in other areas of the company as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What we are searching for

  • Ability to record, maintain, organize, and present documentation to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a proven record of confidentiality and discretion with critical information.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Sound decision maker and strong work ethic. 
  • Individuals with good talking and listening communication skills.
  • Capable of working individually and part of a team.
  • Minimum of (2) years’ experience in regulatory/license maintenance.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Experience of dealing with government employees and agencies preferred.
  • Experience dealing with submission of applications. 
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Adobe PDF.
  • Current Hybrid Schedule of at least 2 days in the office, with the potential of being 5 days a week as indicated by the company.
