Position Summary:
The Litigation Paralegal will support Monster’s in-house litigation team with a wide range of projects pertaining to its litigation matters including, but not limited to, drafting correspondence, assisting with paper and electronic document collection, tracking matters, and reviewing and producing of documents, as well as scanning, copying, filing and organizing materials. The Litigation Paralegal will be an essential part of the litigation team and will be heavily relied upon by in-house counsel.
Essential Job Functions:
- Investigate facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly.
- Understand intermediate e-discovery and computer forensics concepts such as litigation holds, preservation of data and chain of custody.
- Perform research (factual, legal, internet and other) to identify issues and relevant matters and prepares compilation of findings.
- Support in-house litigation team - drafting correspondence, assisting with paper and electronic document collection, tracking matters, and reviewing and producing of documents, as well as scanning, copying, filing and organizing materials.
- Coordinate automated litigation support projects through utilization of technology, including but not limited to, database management software (web or in-house) and Excel.
- Assists with department projects as needed and performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field of -- Paralegal studies, Business or related field.
- Additional Experience Desired: Between 3-5 years of experience in solid litigation.
- Additional Experience Desired: Between 3-5 years of experience in an in-house legal department preferred, however, exceptional candidates with only law firm experience will be considered.
- Computer Skills Desired: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Experience with database management software and Excel, in-house, and medium case collection.
- Preferred Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree and Paralegal Certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited program.
- Additional Knowledge or Skills to be Successful in this role: Candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding the litigation process and e-discovery.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality of the firm’s internal and personnel affairs and client information.
- Understands ethics of position including ethical rules in regard to confidentiality, billing and client representation and advocacy.
- Collaborates effectively and professionally with clients and all levels of personnel, including attorneys, coworkers and administrators.
- Capable of managing and working on large litigation-related projects.
Base Salary Range: $79,500 - $106,000
