Job Description
The U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO), District of New Mexico, is hiring legal administrative specialist to support attorneys who work on fraud investigations and represent the United States in legal matters related to tort claims, environmental litigation, and land and employment disputes. Please note: This is a term position not-to-exceed September 30, 2026 and may be extended without further competition. Legal Administrative Specialist Duties: If selected for this position, you will serve as a Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support) in the Civil Division and be responsible for providing technical advice to civil litigation teams on legal automation requirements and systems capabilities to facilitate litigation decisions, trial preparation, and presentation. Typical work assignments will include: Reviews incoming discovery and other requested information; Prepare and maintain a variety of trial-related documents, e.g., witness lists, exhibit lists, jury instructions, and subpoenas; Prepare exhibits for legal proceedings, which may involve a wide range of visual materials including charts, diagrams, photographs and models; Providing a variety of legal assistance and technical work requiring a specialized knowledge of processes, procedures, and practices to support legal activities. Preparing computerized trial presentation programs; and Monitoring data entry and output from information management system for accuracy. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Salary- $50,502 - $97,158/year
