Job Description:
UPS is seeking a talented and driven attorney to join our corporate headquarters in Atlanta, GA as part of the company’s legal team. The Legal Counsel - Regulatory advises the organization on risks arising from selected areas of international, federal, state and local enforcement. This role ensures clarity and consistency in the legal and business positions taken by UPS and directs the fact finding and evaluation of legal matters. This position analyzes applicable laws, policies, regulations and enforcement trends to best prepare and protect the company. This attorney will also communicate with business leaders across the globe to formulate and advance legal strategies. This individual will also manage outside counsel in representing UPS and may manage Legal Supervisors and/or Administrative Assistants.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Recommend and help implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Advise on all aspects of assigned practice areas, including drafting and reviewing policies, procedures, executive summaries, regulatory submissions and correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.

- Communicate with refinement and authority in person, on video calls, and through email.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience at a large or mid-size law firm, or in a corporate legal department
- Practice experience in at least one (1) of the following three (3) areas of regulatory enforcement:
- Customs and International Trade Regulations (CBP/HTS, OFAC, ITAR, EAR)
- State and Federal Environmental Regulations (EPA)
- Workplace Safety Regulations (OSHA)
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Must be a member of a state bar in good standing, with active license.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
- Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions.
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree).

- This job is a grade 40D

- This is a hybrid position, reporting to the office four (4) days per week
- Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate
