Healthcare Regulatory Compliance Attorney

Remote

Hourly Payrate: $175-$250/hr

Part-time: 20-25 hours per week

2+ months assignment

Preferred Location: West Coast or must work West Coast Hours


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Healthcare Regulatory Compliance Attorney with a strong background in healthcare fraud and abuse laws and healthcare provider engagements, including speaker programs, payment transparency, and reimbursement strategies. As part of the legal team, the Healthcare Regulatory Compliance Attorney will work closely with key stakeholders in legal and business functions to maintain a robust compliance program and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Regulatory Legal Counsel: regarding federal and state regulations affecting the healthcare industry. Advise on risk mitigation strategies to ensure compliance across business operations.

·      Compliance Program Management:  Assist in the maintenance of the company’s healthcare compliance program. Advise on fair market value assessments and healthcare provider engagements. Handle conflict of interest, sponsorship, and similar issues.

·      Policy and Procedure Development: Though this will not be a substantial portion of this engagement, there may be related tasks, time permitting. 


Qualifications:

·      Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing

·      5+ years of experience with a law firm that has a nationally recognized FDA/Life Sciences practice and/or equivalent experience as a member of a medical device, biotechnology or pharmaceutical company’s legal department.

·      In-depth knowledge of healthcare fraud and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act and related regulations

·      Experience providing legal guidance on speaker programs, promotional activities, and healthcare reimbursement matters

·      Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory issues

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
