JOB SUMMARY

The Claims Services Representative within the Litigation Department will provide support to the Litigation Team and management.

Hybrid/Remote - must live within 60 miles of office headquarters in Tampa, FL. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Update claims status/diary/legal acknowledgment  
  • Update and maintain lawsuit database
  • Extract completed files to provide to defense attorney
  • Order policy copy for lawsuits
  • Image all incoming claims documents to electronic file
  • Manage litigation mailbox and calendar
  • Process incoming invoices by forwarding to Finance Department
  • Add new claim parties and vendors into SAMs to allow processing of invoices and payments
  • Process certified policy requests
  • Reopen claim files to allow for processing of late vendor invoices
  • Process all incoming Civil Remedy Notices 
  • Assist in the preparation of outgoing correspondence
  • Assist with file closures, including reviewing final release, following up on dismissal and Defense Attorney invoices
  • Review court dockets to ensure timely response to pleadings

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong phone etiquette
  • Proven capability to communicate effectively verbally and written
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong typing, computer and internet skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast paced and high-volume environment
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

 

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience as a Claims Services Representative
  • One year or more related experience and/or training within a claims department preferred, or a combination of equivalent experience

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • 6-20 License within 60 days of employment

 

HYBRID WORKING & COLLABORATION WEEKS

To foster HCI’s commitment to creating a collaborative work environment, remote workers will be required to report to a central office location for one week every quarter for collaboration, team building, and educational exercises.  Attendance during collaboration weeks is a vital component of our team culture, and therefore mandatory unless exceptions are approved through Human Resources.  Additionally, employees may be asked to report to the office outside of collaboration weeks as project requirements, team meetings, or other organizational needs that necessitate in-person collaboration occur.
