Position Summary
The Senior Paralegal is an experienced and highly skilled individual to support our Chief Legal Officer and members of the in-house legal team across a variety of brands and business units in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role requires expertise in corporate legal matters, contract management, compliance, and risk management. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of taking on increasing levels of responsibility. This position may need to supervise other paralegals and legal department administrative staff by overseeing workflow, providing performance evaluations, and ensuring alignment with department goals.
Responsibilities
General Corporate (Enterprise Wide)
- Maintain corporate record books and assist with management of company subsidiaries both domestic and international and management of vendors related to same.
- Support corporate secretary functions, including resolutions, intercompany agreements, treasury documentation.
- Assist in legal support of contract review and management.
- Support corporate legal team in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence.
Compliance & Risk Management (Enterprise Wide)
- Serve as lead contact for the company’s record retention policy compliance.
- Assist in corporate policy management.
- Assist in document production for legal inquiries and litigation support.
- Review and revise lien waivers for business units and assist with conflict resolution related to the same.
Legal & Business Operations
- Oversee business, contractor, and engineering licenses and registrations.
- Handle general contractor prequalification submission requests and renewals.
- Track financial information requests, NDAs, and contract documentation.
- Support legal inquiries, including subpoenas, claims, and litigation cases.
- File preliminary notices for projects before work commencement.
- Assist in contract reviews and vendor prequalification submissions.
- Assist with the management and tracking of surety bonds and ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
- Coordinate communication and documentation for company permits/visas with outside immigration counsel.
- Support Harmon, Inc.’s warranty and customer service tracking for legal and executive leadership reporting.
- Track and support independent representative and reseller agreements and timelines and manage renewal procedures related to the same.
- Create and maintain template contracts with assistance from in-house counsel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Skills Required
- 7+ years of broad legal experience in a law firm or in-house corporate legal environment, with at least 4 years of experience in commercial construction
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal databases.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
Travel Requirements
- Travel anticipated is minimal (~5%) to support projects or meetings.
Pay Range
- $90,000-$120,000
