Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic professional with a finance or real estate background to join our legal team, supporting an investment team specializing in complex real estate private credit transactions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of supporting real estate lending transactions, loan portfolio due diligence, and regulatory compliance, with exceptional communication, project management, and analytical skills. This role requires the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the whole loan trading process by ensuring the accurate execution and delivery of trade documents, notices, and related materials daily.

  • Assist in creating, reviewing, and negotiating contracts related to loan acquisitions and sales, and servicing agreements.

  • Support the due diligence process for loan acquisitions, including handling title, survey, and regulatory compliance issues.  

  • Assist internal loan servicing managers with loss mitigation, servicer oversight, and litigation strategies, including managing foreclosures and REO properties.

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of all fund-related entities, including managing secretary of state filings, annual reports, and maintaining internal record-keeping databases.

  • Manage and update all internal legal databases concerning fund documents, agreements, assets, and corporate structures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school desired but not required

  • Minimum of 2 years of combined legal and financial services experience with a JD, or 5+ years of relevant experience without a JD, with a focus on real estate transactions

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with loan underwriting, credit support, and asset management

  • Experience working with title insurance, lending due diligence, and regulatory compliance

  • Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage projects, adapt to changing priorities, and work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supporting large real estate loan portfolios ($20M+ assets).

  • Prior work in either a law firm or financial institution setting

  • Familiarity with corporate governance, commercial and residential loan documentation

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $110,000-$150,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
