Duties Assists in the development and implementation of a comprehensive nationwide environmental management program for the Bureau of Prisons. At a minimum, this program will include national oversight and development of the following program areas: executive order (EO) 13423, acquisition (formerly Buying Green), chemical management, cleanup, electronics stewardship, environmental management systems (EMS), energy, environmental compliance, high performance buildings, natural resources, national environmental policy act (NEPA), pollution prevention, sustainability, and transportation. Responsible for ensuring the BOP uses EMS as the primary management approach for addressing environmental aspects of internal agency operations and activities, including environmental aspects of energy and transportation functions, establishment of agency objectives and targets to ensure implementation of this order, and collection, analysis, and reporting of information to measure performance in the implementation of Executive Order 13423. Provide assistance and expertise for developing a national natural resources program to include the latest guidance, examples, and information resources in managing endangered or threatened species, wetlands, erosion control, habitat development, native landscaping, and wildlife in general. Assists in matters relating to Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Federal Insecticide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) I Executive Orders, and all other environmental areas under the umbrella of a comprehensive environmental management system (EMS) to include second party certifications at BOP facilities as they pertain to environmental matters. Salary- $105,383 - $137,000/year
