In this role, you’ll guide clients through the often lengthy initial and reconsideration stages of the Social Security disability process, providing essential support as they navigate complex paperwork and requirements.
About the RoleAs a Prehearing Paralegal, you’ll serve as a trusted guide and advocate for our clients. This remote position requires exceptional organizational and communication skills to ensure clients stay informed and prepared every step of the way. Key responsibilities include:
- Communicating frequently with clients to provide updates, guidance, and reassurance throughout the process.
- Assisting clients with completing paperwork, gathering medical records, and responding to Social Security Administration (SSA) requests.
- Monitoring case progress and maintaining detailed, organized client files in our 100% paperless office.
- Liaising with the Social Security Administration to address questions, submit documentation, and resolve issues.
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and internet applications.
- Communication Skills: An upbeat, friendly, and professional demeanor with excellent phone etiquette.
- Empathy and Patience: A commitment to supporting clients through a long and sometimes frustrating process, including those with severe disabilities who may require extra care and understanding.
- Organization and Independence: Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and self-motivation to work effectively in a remote setting.
