The Corporate Paralegal - Legal Operations will play a key role in ensuring the effective management of AEO’s entities and subsidiaries, supporting litigation strategy and strengthening corporate governance, compliance and policy management. This role focuses on maintaining organizational compliance, minimizing legal and operational risks and enabling the Legal Department to deliver timely, high-quality support to the business.
The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering results across core areas of entity management, litigation, compliance and governance while also contributing to broader legal operations. This opportunity is well-suited for a highly motivated professional who thrives on responsibility, embraces problem-solving and drives efficiency in a fast-paced, dynamic in-house legal environment.
Responsibilities:
- Entity & Subsidiary Management – Maintain accurate corporate records, manage filings and governance actions, and ensure compliance across all entities and subsidiaries
- Litigation Support – Coordinate discovery and document production, manage case files and deadlines, and provide research that supports cost-effective, strategic litigation outcomes
- Compliance & Policy Management – Support compliance programs, assist with policy development and rollout, and maintain clear, accessible documentation to promote consistent business practices
- Department Operations - Manage legal documents, files, and billing processes; oversee vendor management
- Contract Support - Draft, review, and organize contracts; maintain contract management systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility
- Research & Analysis - Conduct legal research to support decision-making
- Special Projects - Partner with attorneys on cross-functional initiatives that drive efficiency and effectiveness in the legal department
- Administrative Support - Coordinate scheduling, communications and other administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite; familiarity with legal systems such as Legal Tracker, Ariba, contract management platforms, compliance tools or Westlaw is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and colleagues across the organization
Pay/Benefits Information:
- Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
