About the Role

We are a multidisciplinary environmental, planning, and civil engineering consulting firm providing services to public- and private-sector clients. Our work spans environmental permitting, land development, transportation planning, water resources, and infrastructure design. We maintain a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, risk management, and high-quality client service.

We are seeking a part-time Attorney or experienced Paralegal to support our General Counsel with a broad range of corporate, contractual, and compliance matters. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional familiar with professional services firms, engineering/construction contracting, or corporate legal operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review, redline, and support negotiation of professional services agreements, subconsultant agreements, NDAs, teaming agreements, and amendments.
  • Review insurance requirements and certificates; ensure compliance with contractual risk-transfer provisions (e.g., indemnity, limitation of liability, additional insured endorsements).
  • Assist with corporate governance activities, including maintaining corporate records, business registrations, and entity filings.
  • Support risk management and compliance processes, including monitoring regulatory obligations, maintaining internal policies, and tracking contractual commitments.
  • Conduct legal research on issues related to contracts, procurement, insurance, and relevant environmental and engineering regulations.
  • Organize, track, and maintain contract templates, executed agreements, and legal files.
  • Provide general assistance to the General Counsel on ad hoc legal matters.

Essential Requirements:

 Attorney:

  • J.D. degree and admission to at least one U.S. state bar (active or inactive acceptable depending on duties).
  • 1–5+ years of experience in contracts, corporate, or construction/professional services law preferred.

Paralegal:

  • Paralegal certificate or relevant experience (3+ years preferred).
  • Experience in contract review or corporate governance strongly preferred.

Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with professional services agreements for engineering, architectural, environmental, or construction firms.
  • Strong understanding of insurance terminology (A/E insurance, GL, PL, WC, Auto, umbrella).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document-management systems.

Compensation

Compensation will range from $36hr - $41hr and commensurate with experience.
