As a Supervisory Asylum Officer, you will provide direction to staff engaged in the administration of Immigration and Nationality laws pertinent to the Asylum Program, serve as a USCIS representative on asylum matters, and lead in the strategic mission and resource management of the Asylum Division.
Duties- Provide technical and administrative direction to Asylum Division staff whose work involves the adjudication of asylum applications and other protection related immigration benefits and screenings.
- Conduct quality reviews to ensure asylum applications are adjudicated appropriately and that an appropriate level of quality in interviewing, case write-ups, and out-processing is achieved and maintained.
- Collaborate with Division personnel to optimize work efficiency and effectiveness, which includes sharing resources, forming work groups and project teams to meet Divisional goals while eliminating barriers.
- Conduct studies with detailed analysis, and present findings and recommendations on program operations of complex functions and work processes that relate to Asylum applications and other Asylum workloads.
- Provide advice, counsel and/or instruction to staff members on both work and administrative matters, which involves resolving complaints from employees and effecting disciplinary measures.
