Specialist, Practice Management – Registered Funds
The Specialist, Practice Management – Registered Funds will join a growing team of practice professionals focused on driving accountability, ensuring operational efficiency and enhancing structured workflows within the assigned practice group. The Specialist, Practice Management is responsible for support of the day-to-day execution of business needs and strategic priorities set forth by practice leadership. In this role, the Specialist, Practice Management will report to the Director of Practice Management and work closely with other business operations departments (e.g., Knowledge, Finance, Legal Personnel, Marketing/Business Development, IT, HR, Office of General Counsel, etc.) to support the practice operations, business strategies, financial profitability, resource management, and plans of the Registered Funds practice group.
Responsibilities/Duties
Support the Director of Practice Management and Practice Group leadership to execute, track and report on a strategic practice group plan with clear and achievable goals focused on revenue, profitability, headcount, reputation, brand awareness, profile and competitive differentiation
Draft and lead presentations, and other operational materials to socialize PG plans, decisions and group initiatives
Help analyze PG financial performance (revenue, profitability, realization, utilization, WIP, A/R); prepare report regularly on key performance indicators, monitor progress and execute on related action items
Refine and streamline PG reporting as needed
Monitor, track and report on the PG’s operational expenditures
Coordinate with PG Professional Development Manager on training, resource planning and management, recruiting, retention, partnership pipeline, succession planning, promotions process, and other aspects of talent management
Coordinate with Legal Talent and Office Management colleagues to execute on lateral onboarding and integration programs for attorneys joining the PG
Collaborate with the Director of Practice Management and Marketing and Business Development to support client teams and various internal industry working groups and their initiatives
Assist with special ad hoc projects such as competitor research and industry analysis
Track, monitor, and maintain a running list of pipeline matters
Support the daily operations of PG, including preparing for and running PG meetings and retreats
Monitor current trends and best practices in legal and professional services management; communicate the impact of new innovations, developments, and regulations
Participate in fostering a culture that is team-oriented and committed to professional excellence
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in serving as a business professional with an understanding of financial analysis, project management, client relationship and talent management.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, etc.) preferred.
Strong analytical with the ability to develop and successfully execute project and operational plans from broadly stated objectives.
Excellent presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills, with the confidence and professionalism to interact credibly with all levels within an organization—effectively tailoring communications for various groups and stakeholders.
Strong ability to adapt and pivot in fast passed environment, demonstrating resilience under pressure and a flexibility for quick decision-making.
Proven experience driving continuous improvement in business operations, technology and practices in a complex, matrixed, global professional services environment.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to create consensus-based support for business operations and decisions, complemented by strong emotional intelligence and collaboration skills.
Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
Prior experience in Asset Management, Banking, Consulting, or Finance is advantageous.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Strong ability to influence stakeholders and present ideas effectively in front of senior-level stakeholders, showcasing gravitas and confidence.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions to operational challenges.
Ability a commitment to fostering collaboration in a team environment.
Salary Information
DC Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
