Duties This position is under the general and administrative direction of the Director, USMS. The incumbent serves as the Assistant Director, Office of Professional Responsibility providing executive leadership with directing and managing the Internal Affairs and the Internal Audit Program. This includes full technical responsibility for managing, administering, and executing the development, implementation, and operations of the programs, policies, and procedures pertaining to the USMS internal inspections and audit programs. The scope and responsibilities includes support for the Marshals Service Headquarters, 94 districts, the sub-offices nationwide and in Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic. The Office of Internal Affairs investigates USMS employee and contractor misconduct or illegal activity. These investigations address both criminal and non-criminal violations. The Assistant Director personally oversees the investigation of the most sensitive and complex criminal and administrative misconduct cases; ensures that investigations of allegations are coordinated with the Department of Justice, Office of Inspector General; and ensures that investigative reports are prepared for administrative action or prosecutorial decision. This is a Senior Executive Service (SES) position concerned with developing staff capability to execute a critical management function directly responsible for ensuring wide staff integrity and strengthening the credibility of the Marshals Service in the execution of its law enforcement mission. Salary- $150,160 - $225,700/year
