
Northrop Grumman’s Law Department is seeking an experienced, highly motivated attorney to serve as a Corporate Counsel on our Labor & Employment Law team. The Corporate Counsel will manage and drive strategy on a labor and employment law support for businesses in California, and throughout the United States and international locations. Corporate Counsel will serve as a strategic, creative, and sought-after labor and employment advisor, helping employees, leaders, and businesses maximize efficiency, agility, and growth, while identifying and mitigating risk in furtherance of our commitment to ethics, integrity and compliance. Collaborating across the team, department, and diverse stakeholders, Corporate Counsel will help lead Northrop Grumman in complying with labor and employment laws while meeting business goals by: strategically advising on human resources and business initiatives; training and educating stakeholders on labor/employment requirements; creating solutions to identify and mitigate labor/employment legal risk; and defending the company when its talent strategies or personnel actions are challenged.

The preferred location for this position is Palmdale, CA, but we may consider an El Segundo/Redondo Beach alternative location if needed. The position reports to Northrop Grumman’s Assistant General Counsel, Labor and Employment located in Falls Church, VA.
This position may be filled at a higher level based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications Corporate Counsel I:
- Law Degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Active California State Bar membership
- 8 or more years of labor/employment experience (in-house, government, and/or law firm)
- Experience counseling clients on a breadth of California employment law and labor code issues
- Experience conducting investigations, responding to administrative charges, developing and implementing policies and procedures, preparing and negotiating settlement agreements, and representing companies in employment adversarial matters.
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and hold a U.S. DoD security clearance and program accesses.

- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and hold a U.S. DoD security clearance and program accesses.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to self-motivate, work under minimal supervision, and learn new substantive areas within and beyond labor and employment law.
- Experience with federal labor law, including ULP, bargaining, CBA administration, labor arbitration, and union organizing
- Experience advising on international labor law matters (US expat assignments and local employees)
- Experience advising federal government contractors
- Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to balance multiple, competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters, including audits, investigations, mediations, and administrative hearings
