Creditors' rights law firm seeks an attorney with an interest in bankruptcy law. Position requires client contact and a high-volume workload. License to practice law in California required.
Basic Function
Primarily manages bankruptcy matters that are considered contested or litigated, draft and review all pleadings and claims filed in the particular matter; responds to all objections and motions involving the rights of clients; attends scheduled hearings; responds to general firm wide bankruptcy inquiries; and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
-Document preparation and execution
-Draft and review all filings on behalf of the clients
-Monitoring of all electronic filings (ECFs)
-Regular communication with the client
Required Skills
Knowledge of bankruptcy rules/laws and general creditor rights laws
Advanced computer literacy and the ability to learn and utilize different case management systems
Familiarity with CM/ECF filing system
Exceptional work ethic and high degree of professionalism
High level of attention to detail and organization
Effective time management
Communication skills
Education
Law degree – JD
Experience
The ideal candidate does not need to have any experience.
The candidate should have a solid understanding of consumer loan documents, top-notch organizational and communication skills, and the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines. The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice law in California and have a familiarity with California bankruptcy courts, local rules, and court procedures.
