Job Description
Our Intake Services department has an excellent opportunity for a Conflicts Analyst in our West Coast Offices. This is an exempt position that reports to the Manager of Intake Services. This role will identify and research potential conflicts of interest and review new client/matter information by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze conflict of interest reports and other related information to identify potential conflicts of interest and provide meaningful information upon request, including verification of client name.
- Prepare clear and concise reports documenting the results of specific conflict searches and highlighting the areas of potential conflict.
- Conduct research in the Firm’s internal databases and external databases for the purpose of determining whether actual or potential conflicts exist.
- Work with attorneys to document conflict clearances on new business submissions.
- Review submitted data for new client and client/matter acceptance. Research accuracy and quality of information as well as potential client relationships.
- Provide telephone assistance and respond to inquiries from Conflict Researchers and end users regarding conflict of interest checks, client/matter status and end-user system support.
- Other duties as requested and assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four year college or university in Paralegal Studies or Business with a minimum of two (2) years of law firm experience in conflicts/new business intake.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong research skills. Knowledge of database architecture or programming a plus. Proven aptitude to learn new software applications. Prior experience in utilizing automated conflicts systems preferred.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, including the ability to understand, analyze and prepare complex reports and to converse with attorneys about conflicts issues. Ability to respond to inquiries from Firm personnel.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to work effectively and provide a quality work product under extremely tight deadline pressure. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Exhibit independent thinking and decision making under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Ability to work the hours necessary to get the job done.

The expected annual salary for this position ranges from $60,000 – 75,000. The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to experience level, education/training, and relevant skills.
