Job Title: Franchise Paralegal
Reports To: Chief Legal Officer
Work Location: Huntersville, NC
Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Franchise Business Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in franchise law and business operations, providing critical support to our legal department and franchise operations. This role involves handling a variety of legal and administrative tasks related to franchise agreements, compliance, and legal documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Franchise Agreement Management:
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and other related legal documents.
  • Coordinate the execution and delivery of franchise agreements and maintain organized records.
Compliance and Regulatory Support:
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state franchise laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and file necessary documents for franchise registrations and renewals.
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date records of franchise registrations and renewals.
Legal Research and Documentation:
  • Conduct legal research on franchise laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Prepare and organize legal documentation, including correspondence, reports, and memoranda.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal briefs and other court documents as needed.
Franchisee Support:
  • Serve as a point of contact for franchisees regarding legal and compliance matters.
  • Provide guidance and support to franchisees in understanding their legal obligations and rights.
Litigation Support:
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of documents for litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel and support the legal team in managing ongoing litigation matters.
Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate and organized legal files and databases.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as required to support the legal team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on franchise law preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of franchise law, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm specializing in franchise law.
  • Familiarity with federal and state franchise registration processes.
  • Experience with litigation support and document management.
