This role involves handling a variety of legal and administrative tasks related to franchise agreements, compliance, and legal documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Franchise Agreement Management:
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and other related legal documents.
- Coordinate the execution and delivery of franchise agreements and maintain organized records.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state franchise laws and regulations.
- Prepare and file necessary documents for franchise registrations and renewals.
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date records of franchise registrations and renewals.
- Conduct legal research on franchise laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Prepare and organize legal documentation, including correspondence, reports, and memoranda.
- Assist in the preparation of legal briefs and other court documents as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for franchisees regarding legal and compliance matters.
- Provide guidance and support to franchisees in understanding their legal obligations and rights.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of documents for litigation and dispute resolution.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and support the legal team in managing ongoing litigation matters.
- Maintain accurate and organized legal files and databases.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
- Perform other administrative tasks as required to support the legal team.
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on franchise law preferred.
- Strong knowledge of franchise law, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm specializing in franchise law.
- Familiarity with federal and state franchise registration processes.
- Experience with litigation support and document management.
