40POSITION SUMMARY
The Clerk of Courts Office is seeking a dependable, adaptable, and highly organized individual to join our team as a full-time Deputy Clerk. This position supports the judicial system by providing a variety of legal and administrative services, as well as direct assistance to the public. Candidates should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be customer-service oriented, and be able to learn a range of office functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Process case management tasks, including case initiation, electronic filing of documents, docketing from court minutes, and case closing activities using the CCAP system.
Communicate effectively with legal professionals, litigants, media, County staff, and the public in person, by phone, and electronically.
Provide front counter and telephone assistance to the public.
Receive and record payments accurately in the automated financial system.
Operate office equipment such as computers, copiers, and scanners.
Identify and implement solutions to improve service to customers.
Participate in professional development aligned with County goals.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance; work additional hours as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
General office and recordkeeping procedures.
Business English, grammar, and spelling.
Accuracy in basic mathematical calculations and recordkeeping.
Proficiency in computer applications; ability to learn new software quickly.
Strong attention to detail.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of office support experience.
A vocational diploma or associate degree in a related field may substitute for required experience.
Prior legal experience preferred, but not necessary.
COMPENSATION:
Starting hourly rate of pay: $20.12 + Marathon County benefits.
