Description
Job Title: Immigration Paralegal
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Forest Hills, Queens NY
Work shoulder-to-shoulder with a retired U.S. Immigration Judge and gain invaluable, hands-on experience in all aspects of immigration law. In this role, you’ll be directly involved in high-impact cases, learning strategies and insights you won’t find in textbooks or training programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the retired Judge and attorneys in the preparation, filing, and tracking of immigration petitions, applications, motions, and other legal documents before EOIR (immigration courts) and USCIS.
- Draft and organize filings for removal defense, asylum, adjustment of status, waivers, appeals, and humanitarian cases.
- Conduct legal research and stay current on immigration laws, regulations, and procedural changes.
- Prepare and compile supporting evidence, exhibits, and case packets for hearings and interviews.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and answer case-related questions.
- Maintain accurate, organized client files in both digital and physical formats.
- Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, and forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with immigration requirements.
- Schedule client appointments, court hearings, and interviews with immigration agencies.
- Monitor and track deadlines to ensure timely submissions.
- Assist in preparing clients for interviews and hearings.
- Collaborate closely with the legal team to develop case strategies and achieve the best possible outcomes.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of immigration paralegal experience, with a strong focus on EOIR and USCIS practice.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, procedures, and standard forms.
- Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and evidence organization.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with immigration case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English, Russian/English, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
- High-level organizational and time-management skills.

Salary Description
$25-$40/hour
