Our attorneys represent clients around the world in trademark-related matters, including intellectual property litigation, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office proceedings, domain name disputes, trademark policing, clearance, prosecution, portfolio management, trade dress, advertising counseling and false advertising litigation, social media and other online branding issues, and anti-counterfeiting enforcement. We have guided a wide range of extraordinary clients through dynamic shifts in technology and the world economy that have profoundly affected strategies for protecting and enforcing brands and content. The Trademark Litigation Paralegal will assist attorneys in managing trademark litigation cases, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, handling e-discovery, and coordinating case management tasks.

This position will be located in Austin, TX and will be required to be in-office two times per week. The pay range is $75,000 - $115,000 per year. Remote candidates will not be considered at this time.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and maintain litigation and policing client/matter files including official papers.
  • Prepare complaints, notices of opposition, answers, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, deposition notices, declarations, proposed orders, exhibit appendices, and correspondence.
  • Assist with document collection processes, including identifying documents responsive to discovery requests, and overseeing document production.
  • E-file documents in various courts and administrative agencies, including but not limited to all Federal Courts, U.S. Court of Appeals (all Circuits), USPTO Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and the Forum (domain name dispute proceedings), and state court.
  • Perform factual and legal cite checking of motions and briefs utilizing key cite checking authorities.
  • Prepare materials for and assist attorneys with court proceedings including but not limited to hearings, depositions, arbitration, and trial.
  • Coordinate with external vendors.
  • Maintain physical and electronic files.
  • Review incoming correspondence, determine appropriate action.
  • Review and maintain docket and update as appropriate.
  • Share responsibility with attorneys for meeting all deadlines.
  • Maintain daily timekeeping for billing purposes, entering time records daily.
  • Other related tasks and duties as requested.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Litigation Paralegal within a law firm setting, including at least some federal civil litigation
  • Strong knowledge of federal court procedures
  • Experience with software such as document management, records management, docket management, research tools, and Pacer
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

 

 

Salary

  • $75,000 - $115,000 per year (eligible for overtime)
