Job Description

The Environmental Enforcement Section is seeking an attorney with a preference of two or more years of bankruptcy and post-judgment litigation experience who has excellent oral, writing, advocacy, client communication, and negotiation skills. Knowledge of the federal Bankruptcy Code and post-judgment practice is preferred. The successful candidate will seek enforcement of outstanding environmental and natural resources compliance obligations in bankruptcy court arising from agency obligations, consent decrees, and judgments and through post-judgment practice. The post-judgment practice includes: foreclosures, collections (e.g., judgment liens, execution on judgments, judgment debtor exams), contempt, and probate matters. The successful candidate will serve as lead and co-counsel in these matters with the support of paralegal staff and will appear in court. This position will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. The headquarters location is 30 E. Broad St., Columbus.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

-Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio pursuant to Section 4705.01 of the Ohio Revised Code

Preferred Qualifications:

-Prior experience with environmental law

-2 years or more of bankruptcy and post-judgment litigation experience
