We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Estates Administration Paralegal to support our attorneys in managing a diverse caseload in the Trusts and Estates practice group. The ideal candidate will have experience handling probate and estate administration matters, assisting attorneys with estate settlements, and managing client communications. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced legal environment. - Assist attorneys in all aspects of estate administration, including probate proceedings and trust administration.
- Prepare and file probate documents, including petitions, inventories, accountings, and court filings.
- Manage the collection, valuation, and distribution of estate assets.
- Communicate with clients, financial institutions, and government agencies regarding estate matters.
- Prepare and review estate tax returns and other necessary tax filings.
- Draft correspondence, legal documents, and agreements related to estate administration.
- Maintain and organize estate files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
- Track deadlines and manage case timelines to ensure efficient case management.
- Provide support to attorneys in trust administration, including preparing trust accountings and funding documents.
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in estate administration, probate, or related legal field.
- Knowledge of probate laws, trust administration, and estate planning principles.
- Proficiency in legal research, drafting legal documents, and managing court filings.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Proficient in legal software, Microsoft Office Suite, and document management systems.
