Job Description

Navan is seeking a business-minded lawyer to join our team as Director, Corporate Securities. This role will report to the General Counsel at the company. This is more than just a legal role — it’s a chance to help shape the future of a category-defining company that is growing like crazy and bringing on the largest global customers in the world.  If you’re passionate about cutting-edge technology, energized by fast-paced environments, and ready to make your mark at a company that’s redefining travel and expense, we want to hear from you.

What you’ll do:
  • Ensure compliance with securities laws, rules, and regulations, including listing requirements and all public filings;
  • Provide legal oversight of quarterly earnings and investor relations related disclosures and advise on shareholder related matters;
  • Manage processes related to quarterly and ad hoc Board and Committee meetings, and ensure corporate governance best practices;
  • Support corporate-related tasks, such as insider trading compliance, drafting compliance certificates, advising on director & officer matters, etc.; and
  • Provide general advice and counsel to business partners in Navan’s Finance, Accounting, Equity Administration, Tax, Insurance, and Investor Relations teams.
What we’re looking for:
  • You have 7+ years of experience as a corporate securities lawyer, working in-house at a public company, at a law firm, or a combination of both
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize and present complex ideas simply and understandably to employees at all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
  • You have experience creating clarity and bringing focus and direction to the most important priorities that will drive the biggest impact, mitigating the most significant risks, and delivering the greatest return on the investment of time and resources
  • You are able to foster empathy, collaboration, and mutual respect in your practice, and you default toward assuming good intentions about others
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, and you can deal with and navigate ambiguity
  • You are intellectually curious, humble (no task is too big or too small), and—through it all—don’t take yourself too seriously
