The Jefferson County Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for an experienced Transactions Paralegal. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in a transactional role and be adept at working in a fast-paced environment, editing and preparing contracts, leases, licenses and other legal documents.
A paralegal certificate or degree is preferred with a minimum of 2 years of experience in, corporate and other transactional paralegal work. This position provides support to the County Attorney’s transactions team and will join a team of three other transactions paralegals Prior experience in a government legal office providing transactional paralegal support is a plus for this position.
The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented, and a team player. The candidate must also have the proven ability to take initiative, move between diverse tasks with ease, and thrive in a high-energy, collegial environment.

Schedule:
This position has the potential to operate on a four-day work week (Monday-Thursday) or a standard work week (Monday-Friday.) This position also offers the opportunity for hybrid work, with options for remote and in-office work.
Hiring Range: $33.00-$36.00 USD Hourly
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills, including Equal Work for Equal Pay considerations.

Essential Duties:
This position involves assisting multiple attorneys in all aspects of transaction legal work which includes but is not limited to:
Performing administrative tasks by updating and maintaining client files
Preparing and editing legal documents, such as contracts, leases, and licenses
Monitoring contracts and leases for expirations and renewals
Editing resolutions, ordinances, policies and routing documents
Preparing and organizing documents for real estate closings
Maintaining electronic files
Managing and processing land use and property tax documents
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of one year of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant working on transactional matters in a legal environment, corporate legal department, or government agency.
A minimum of an Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years or more related experience as a paralegal working on transactional matters.
Paralegal Certificate at time of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities that lead to success in the role:
Prior transactional paralegal experience
Strong written and oral communication
Advanced MS Suite skillset, specifically with Adobe Acrobat Pro
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Attention to detail and deadlines
