Job Description
McMichael & Gray, PC is an established real estate law firm with offices in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Escrow Accounting professional to join the accounting department. The responsibilities of the real estate accounting candidates will be to perform day to day processing of various accounting transactions as well as providing support to ensure the law firm’s financial processes, planning, reporting and analytics are best in class. We are looking for multiple candidates to join the real estate law firm's accounting department.
The candidates should:
- Maintain reports of all files scheduled to close and fund in a particular day
- Perform quality control to match disbursement ledgers to settlement statement, ensure file is balanced
- Confirm that wiring instructions are accurate
- Initiate/Approve wires within online banking system
- Follow up and resolve any matters pertaining to rejected or returned wires
- Have a passion for numbers
- Have a strong technical ability
We are currently seeking candidates for our Gwinnett office. This is not a remote position.
Other Responsibilities and Duties:
- Data entry and report review
- Detecting and correcting accounting errors.
- Assisting Accounting Controller in other duties, as needed.
In addition to Real Estate escrow experience, the ideal applicant will have an eye toward detail, outstanding organizational skills and the ability to prioritize numerous tasks in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment. The applicant must have the ability to professionally communicate with clients, work both independently and as part of a team, and provide exceptional customer service. Experience with SoftPro is a plus.
