Job Description

Position Overview:

A high-performance litigation team is seeking a skilled Experienced Paralegal with a background in personal injury law. This role requires precision, speed, and an ability to operate independently within a structured, fast-paced legal environment. You’ll be responsible for supporting attorneys from intake through trial, managing deadlines, and ensuring each case moves efficiently and accurately through the litigation pipeline.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, discovery responses, and motions.
  • Organize and manage large volumes of case files and correspondence.
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, and expert interviews.
  • Track court deadlines and ensure full compliance with local and state procedures.
  • Summarize medical records, depositions, and discovery documents.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit binders and witness prep.
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, and third parties.
  • Use case management software (Filevine or similar) to log updates, notes, and deadlines.
  • Maintain internal SOP compliance and proactively identify bottlenecks in case progression.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of paralegal experience in personal injury litigation (plaintiff-side preferred).
  • Strong understanding of California civil procedure and e-filing protocols.
  • Fluency in case management systems (Filevine, Clio, etc.).
  • Familiarity with medical records handling, treatment timelines, and billing documentation.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize across multiple active files.
  • Paralegal certificate or relevant legal education preferred.

 

Performance KPIs (First 90 Days):

  • Zero filing errors or missed deadlines.
  • Case notes updated weekly with full timeline visibility.
  • 95%+ completion of Filevine tasks within SLA.
  • Drafts of pleadings completed within 24–48 hours of request.
  • At least one SOP improvement recommendation submitted per month.

 

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $65,000 – $85,000/year + Performance-based bonus tied to KPIs, deadlines, and file accuracy
