The Real Estate Paralegal will work closely with legal, operations, and investment management teams to support smooth and efficient property transactions. This individual will play a key role in preparing and reviewing legal documentation, coordinating due diligence, and ensuring compliance throughout the transaction lifecycle. A successful Real Estate Paralegal will demonstrate strong attention to detail, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute meaningfully to the firm's reputation for professionalism and precision.


This is a full-time position working a standard schedule, Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm. Nights or weekends may be required from time to time dependent on business needs.


The compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $95,000 plus bonus potential. This range is determined by current market data based on the position requirements and complexities. Final offers of employment will be based on multiple factors including candidate education, skills, experience, and location.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Support Associate General Counsel in all aspects of real estate transactions, both student and commercial.
  • Provide administrative support to the Associate General Counsel, including scheduling, correspondence, and file maintenance.
  • Assist with commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing.
  • Support the Associate General Counsel in managing closing processes, including coordinating with the Transaction Team, with title companies, lenders, and outside counsel. 
  • Review purchase agreements and prepare closing checklists, timelines, and deliverables for internal departments.
  • Review closing documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze commercial lease agreements and prepare lease abstracts.
  • Perform various lease administration tasks.
  • Coordinate acquisition, sale, and loan closings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support to the legal team as needed.
  • Organize and maintain due diligence materials and transaction documentation.
  • Track critical dates such as contingency deadlines, title objection periods, closing dates, and lease commencement/termination dates.
  • Assist with entity formation and maintenance, including filing organizational documents and managing corporate records.
  • Support post-closing activities, including monitoring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and draft routine correspondence/memorandum and emails.
  • Maintain and update physical and electronic files.
  • Obtain and organize signature pages.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or related field.
  • Four or more years of experience working in real estate transactions.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a growing, fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism. 
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and make project-level decisions with minimal outside input.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of property management standards including Fair Housing laws, Tenant/Landlord rights, and general real estate principles.
