We are committed to providing exceptional content for our audiences and seek a skilled and detail-oriented Media Production Specialist/Voting System Technician to join our dynamic technical team.
Job Summary
As a Media Production Specialist/Voting System Technician, you will be responsible for video coverage of House Committees and Sessions. You’ll work closely with the House Television team, IT, and committee staff to ensure professional access to live events via the House of Representatives website and YouTube channel.
The House of Representatives maintains seven video control stations servicing eight committee rooms and the House Chamber. The product line utilized features Ross Carbonite production switchers, Ross Xpression character generators, and Panasonic PTZ camera systems.
The successful candidate will be required to monitor and operate the voting displays and sound system during House Sessions. A knowledge of House procedures or prior legislative experience is desired but not required. This opportunity is an in-person, onsite position.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced operation of broadcast production switchers, character generators, camera controllers, audio mixers, and presentation equipment.
- Must be fast thinking, independent, and able to resolve production issues in real-time.
- Advanced operational and creative remote camera skills.
- Good personal skills and ability to work with Representatives, staff, and members of the general public.
- $70,000 - $75,000/year
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in video production or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in broadcast production or video streaming.
- Ability to work independently under pressure in live broadcast environments.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite desired.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
