The Position
This is an excellent opportunity for lawyers with a strong background in defense litigation who are looking to grow professionally and take on meaningful, hands-on responsibilities. Join a dynamic team where your contributions are valued, and your development is supported.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a caseload from inception through resolution.
- Draft a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- Work cross-functionally with colleagues across offices to drive successful outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with clients and provide updates, guidance, and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
- JD from an ABA accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in the state of California
- 8+ years of defense litigation
- Background in one or more of the following areas: catastrophic injury, product liability, premises liability, construction defect, habitability, transportation, or general liability.
- Proven experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions.
- Prior experience cross-examining plaintiffs and fact witnesses preferred.
- Courtroom and deposition experience required; trial and second-chair trial experience a plus.
- Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex legal issues and develop effective solutions.
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advocate on behalf of clients clearly and effectively.
A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
Pay Range
$175,000 - $200,000 USD
