Our client, a prestigious law firm recognized in the 2024 edition of Best Law Firms®, is seeking a highly-motivated Professional Liability Associate Attorney to join their team in Chicago.
Candidate Profile:

JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

Active Bar Admission in Illinois.

2+ years of substantive litigation experience defending professional liability claims involving Architects & Engineers and construction defects.

Insurance defense experience is advantageous.

Familiarity with second-chairing trials, depositions and/or evidentiary hearings.

Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills, with the ability to draft persuasive and clear pleadings, motions, briefs, mediation statements, orders and settlement agreements.

Experience conducting large-scale document reviews and productions.

Comfortable communicating with opposing counsel and working directly with clients.

Highly motivated, with the initiative to take on significant case responsibility.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:

Defend architects and engineers in professional liability claims and construction defects.

Manage multiple professional liability matters simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Draft and argue motions, attend depositions, and participate in trial preparation.

Work directly with clients, communicate with opposing counsel, and collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy.

Manage discovery, including document production and review.
- Conduct large-scale document reviews and productions.

Build relationships with the firm's existing clients and develop new client relationships and business.
