Job Title: Legal Discovery Investigator

 

Position Summary:

 

Magna Legal Services is seeking an Investigator to join our Legal Discovery team in Riverside, CA. This on-site role supports litigation efforts by identifying and obtaining documentation from individuals involved in lawsuits or associated legal matters. The information gathered is critical to our clients and their legal cases.

This position involves both field and office presence, extensive cold calling, follow-up communication, persistence, professionalism, and the ability to build rapport and gain cooperation from individuals. Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and comfort working both independently and as part of a team. Reliability, punctuality, and excellent communication skills are essential.

We are open to training candidates in Legal Discovery, especially those with experience in customer service and communication with others. The ideal candidate is resourceful, proactive, and capable of thinking outside the box to locate hard-to-find information, often asking, “What other method or avenue can I explore?”

This role offers opportunities for growth and the potential to work toward obtaining a California Private Investigator’s license under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Please note: This role may involve reviewing sensitive or graphic materials—including photos, reports, and videos—as we frequently collaborate with law enforcement agencies. Candidates should be comfortable handling emotionally challenging content.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Handling a large volume and variety of assignments with required deadline.
  • Locating and establishing contact with parties involved in the litigation.
  • Obtaining/completing documentation related to Affidavits, Depositions, Interrogatories, Admissions, Production of Documents, and more.
  • Composing clear and concise email communications and investigative summaries.
  • Frequent field work including flexible hours and driving.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • An associate’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of general clerical work experience in an office setting is strongly preferred, along with customer service and public interaction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • General knowledge the varying types of law enforcement agencies.
  • General knowledge of legal matters and proceedings.

 

Compensation: USD $23.00 - $26.00 per hour.

 

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
