We are seeking an accomplished Appellate Partner Attorney with significant appellate experience to join our national defense practice. This leadership position may be based in any of our office locations and offers the flexibility to work fully remote or hybrid.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide strategic direction on litigation and appellate matters.
- Serve as lead appellate counsel in both federal and state trial and appellate courts.
- Oversee all stages of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, trial, and appeal.
- Draft and argue complex motions at the trial and appellate court levels.
- Represent clients in court for hearings, trials, and appellate arguments.
- Manage and mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
- Supervise case progress, ensuring deadlines and client requirements are met.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Federal court clerking experience (District or Court of Appeals) preferred.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in state of residence.
- Minimum of 8+ years' litigation and appellate experience, with substantial federal experience preferred.
- Proven track record managing a national docket and handling high-stakes or high-profile matters.
- Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
- Experience in products liability, breach of contract, and torts.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in a law firm or litigation practice.
