Job Description

The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist judges with the timely disposition of cases through case management, case monitoring and program implementation. The position is responsible for following time standards set by Florida Statute for expeditious case dispositions. The position is responsible for collecting and reporting on case/program data and maintaining databases as needed. The position works under the general supervision of a program coordinator.

Examples of Work

Reviews case files and pleadings for sufficiency and compliance with statutory civil rules of procedure and local rule requirements.

Updates and maintains case management system.

Monitors and tracks cases.

Sends out required notices and orders.

Attends court hearings.

Follow-up on cases requiring activity completion by a certain date.

Maintains statistical data and records.

Salary
  • $47,040.06/year
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology or a closely social science related field and two years of professional related experience. Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year for year basis.

Knowledge of the legal system; court process and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.

Ability to establish work priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain attention to details to ensure accurate results. Ability to maintain confidentially concerning sensitive issues before the court.

Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other court personnel, legal professionals, litigants and the general public.
