Position Description
The Assistant Counsel reports to the General Counsel and is responsible for providing assistance in meeting the legal needs of EFC. Essential Duties
- Conduct in-depth analysis of legal documents related to water quality projects
- Provide comprehensive legal support on financing transactions, including drafting and reviewing essential documents for water quality projects
- Advise EFC on matters related to the execution of its financing strategies and legal requirements
- Draft and review contracts to ensure compliance and support EFC’s goals
- Deliver strategic guidance on various legal issues as they arise
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate and active admission to the New York State Bar
- 1-3 years of experience in areas such as corporate law, municipal law, environmental law, or public finance law
- EFC values diverse legal backgrounds. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be considered, at the discretion of the Corporation
Preferred Skills and experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal and a track record of collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders. A proactive approach to problem-solving
- Strong legal drafting, negotiation and document review skills
Working Conditions and Physical Abilities
Work is performed in an office setting, with prolonged periods of sitting and fine manipulation skills required for computer use.

Salary will be based on experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Employees may request to telecommute up to two days per week after the completion of their training period.
